Thank You to All Walkers!

THANKS TO YOU, THE NORTHEASTERN MAINE HEART WALK HAS RAISED NEARLY $60,000 AND WE ARE STILL COUNTING! Although it was a chilly day, hundreds of you turned out for the Walk on Saturday - thank you for braving the cold weather to join us! The American Heart Association is proud to partner with each of you in our efforts to build healthier lives in our community, free from cardiovascular diseases and stroke.

With that said, we are not done yet! Even though the Northeastern Maine Heart Walk is over, our fundraising efforts are not!

For those of you who couldn't make it to the Walk, or those that have additional funds to turn in, there is still time! We can accept money from teams and individuals to count towards prizes until the end of day on Friday, November 7th. If you'd like Victoria to come by to pick up any additional funds raised, please respond to this e-mail or e-mail Victoria directly at victoria.rees@heart.org. You may also mail funds to us at AHA, 51 US Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, ME 04074.

Funds can still be accepted through December 31st and will be credited towards the general fund of this year's walk instead of individual teams and walkers.

We will be running a report of the participant fundraising totals to determine your prizes. All Team Captains will be able to pick up T-shirts and prize certificates for all of their walkers at our Victory Celebration (date TBA). Team Captains will be receiving an invitation soon.

Become a Top Walker and Win!


Great news – we have another opportunity for walkers to win! We’re challenging all walkers to send out e-mails, raise money and become Top Walkers. Top Walkers are participants who raise over $250. All Top Walkers will be entered into a drawing to win a $50 gift certificate to the Sea Dog Brewing Company! This drawing will take place at the Victory Party (date TBA). In order to qualify for this drawing you must have all of your fundraising dollars turned in by November 7th- this gives you an additional two weeks after the Walk to reach that $250 level!

The association invested more than $543 million in fiscal year 2005-06 for research, professional and public education, and advocacy so people across America can live stronger, longer lives.

Thanks to all our walkers, donors and volunteers who have accepted the challenge to help fight heart disease and stroke. We cannot achieve our mission without each one of you!
